Terms of Use

PhotoMatch · Last updated: September 25, 2026

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and PhotoMatch. By posting a photo on a PhotoMatch page or using the PhotoMatch app, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

Zero tolerance. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior on PhotoMatch. Content that is harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, or that targets or endangers anyone will be removed, and the account behind it will be terminated. We review reports and act on them, aiming for within 24 hours.

1. Age requirement

PhotoMatch is for adults aged 18 and over. PhotoMatch codes are placed in public places, bars and venues. Age is self-declared: the place page asks for your age and for a tick on "I'm 18 or older" and does not let anyone who enters an age under 18 continue, and creating an account in the app requires the same tick. We do not check identity documents. By using the service you represent that you are at least 18 years old, and that you will not use PhotoMatch at an alcohol-serving venue unless you meet that venue's legal drinking age.

We do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to use PhotoMatch. If we learn or reasonably suspect that a user is under 18, we will terminate the account and delete the associated data. If you believe a minor is using PhotoMatch, contact us immediately at the address below.

2. What PhotoMatch is

PhotoMatch is a photo feed for real places, built around QR codes. You scan a code in a place, take one to three photos with your camera on a web page, add an optional caption of up to 140 characters, give your first name and age, and post. Your photos are published in that place's photo feed, on your profile and in the app, where people can like, comment on and share them. There are also badges for places you visit, and a weekly group chat open to everyone who visited, scanned or posted at a place that week.

Meeting people is optional. It is off by default. If you turn on "Meet people who were here", you give your gender, who you want to see, your star sign and answers to a few questions, and you take a selfie that automated facial-analysis software turns into an internal score. Then the people who visited the same place in the same window (a bar night, or a week, as the Privacy Policy explains) appear as cards, ordered by a compatibility percentage. You can like or pass. When two people like each other it is a match, and matches, and people who follow each other, can send private messages. You can turn the option off at any time in your profile.

It is entertainment. It is not a matchmaking guarantee, a compatibility assessment of any scientific validity, or a promise that you will meet anyone.

3. Your photographs and the license you grant us

You keep ownership of your likeness. To operate the service, you grant PhotoMatch a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute the photographs taken of you on a PhotoMatch page, for the purposes of:

This license lasts as long as the photographs remain on the service and ends when you delete your account, except that we cannot recall copies already downloaded, screenshotted or shared by others before deletion, and that a copy of an image may stay in a browser or network cache for a short time after the file is removed (see the Privacy Policy).

Your photos and captions are public once you post them. The photo feed of a place can be opened by anyone using the app, and the latest photos of a place are shown on its page to anyone who opens it. If you do not want a photograph, or its caption, seen by other people, do not post it.

4. Accounts

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password confidential. Provide accurate information. Do not impersonate anyone, create an account for someone else, or use PhotoMatch if we have previously terminated your account.

5. Rules of conduct

You agree not to:

6. Reporting, blocking and enforcement

Every user can report a person, a photo or a comment, and block a person, directly in the app: in chats, on profiles, on swipe cards, in the crew list, in the group's members list, on photos and on comments (our support page shows where). Blocking removes the follows between you, ends any match, and hides each of you from the other in the deck, the group and crew lists, the photo feed, comments and search; it also stops messages, follows and comments between you. It is not announced to the other person. A photo or comment reported by two different people is hidden for everyone while we review it. Reports are sent to us and we review them, aiming for within 24 hours; we remove violating content and terminate the accounts responsible. We may suspend or terminate any account at any time for a violation of these Terms.

7. Meeting other people — read this

PhotoMatch does not conduct criminal background checks or identity verification of any kind. We do not vet users. Anything a user tells you about themselves is unverified.

YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER USERS, ONLINE AND IN PERSON. PHOTOMATCH IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT OF ANY USER. MEET IN PUBLIC PLACES, TELL SOMEONE WHERE YOU ARE GOING, AND STOP ANY INTERACTION THAT MAKES YOU UNCOMFORTABLE.

8. Privacy and biometric consent

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, who can see what, and how to delete it. Facial analysis happens only if you turn on "Meet people who were here", and only on the selfie you take for it: you consent to it on the place page, by ticking a separate box before the selfie can be taken, and you may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account. The photos you post are not analyzed.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY MATCH WILL BE SUITABLE.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PHOTOMATCH AND ITS OWNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER USERS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PhotoMatch and its owners from any claim arising out of your use of the service, your content, your conduct toward other users, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

You may stop using PhotoMatch and delete your account at any time in the app (Me, then Edit, then Delete Account); the Privacy Policy lists what is deleted and what is not. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms. Sections 3, 7, 9, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where required, obtain your consent again. Continuing to use PhotoMatch after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
